About Us

IMANI RESIDENTIAL SERVICES, INC

Philosophy and Goals

Imani Residential Services was founded for the purpose of providing active residential treatment services to physically, mentally, developmentally disabled, emotionally impaired and traumatically brain injured individuals, who without such services, would be required to live in large depersonalizing environments.

We believe that all people are capable of intellectual, emotional and social growth. It is our goal to provide the proper environment and training regiments necessary to foster such growth in the individuals who reside in our homes.

Services provided to our home residents are determined on an individual basis, but will always include:

1. Room and board

2. Twenty-four hour supervision....(Where applicable necessary or required)

3. Transportation

4. Training and guidance with activities of daily living

5. Recreation and social skills development

6. Participation in community activities

7. Necessary and routine health care services

8. Advocacy for the most appropriate educational and vocational services

Through these basic services and additional individualized plans of service our resident are aided in the development of more independent living patterns which can result in their progress to less restrictive living environments. This is consistent with the Department of Mental Health’s philosophy, which is to return developmentally disable persons to, and maintain them in, their own community through the provision of comprehensive community services.

It is fundamental to our philosophy that positive and ongoing communications be maintained with the family and guardians of our residents. The communication will be fostered in the manner in which opinions and request of clients and their family or guardians shall be considered in all service decisions including the location, duration and objectives of the service.

Rights of all residents will be honored and upheld accordance to the policies of the Office of Recipient Rights of the Community Mental Health Board.
